How long does this eye sore last?

It's covering my [acronym:b3c3d04d06="Live rock"]LR[/acronym:b3c3d04d06], what is that going to do to my coraline algae? Is it really going to hurt anything? ie suffocate it

Several weeks. After a tank cycles there is so many nutrients in the water that algae just can't say "no" to. When your tank does complete its cycle, I would invest in a good cleanup crew of a few different types of snails. That should help. Other than that, there is not much else you can do.

You do use [acronym:47c41c569c="Reverse osmosis"]RO[/acronym:47c41c569c]/[acronym:47c41c569c="Deionization"]DI[/acronym:47c41c569c] water, correct?

Don't worry too much about coralline algae right now. You still have more "garbage" algae blooms to go through. It will come back soon enough.
