as in my sig, i have 13 lbs of live rock. i m going to add some 20 lbs of live rock to my aquarium in a few days. Will this help reduce my nitrates? If not , what else can i do, as i have [acronym:9353d418dd="Cyanobacteria"]cyano[/acronym:9353d418dd] rampaging in my tank.

The more [acronym:a03a62393d="Live rock"]LR[/acronym:a03a62393d] the better. You should really shoot for about 60lbs total for the best biological filtration. A 4in sand bed will help with [acronym:a03a62393d="Nitrate"]NO3[/acronym:a03a62393d] accumulation but will really do nothing to reduce exsisting levels. To get the true denitrafying benefits of a [acronym:a03a62393d="Deep Sand Bed"]DSB[/acronym:a03a62393d] it should be 6-8inches in depth. For now, continue doing [acronym:a03a62393d="Partial water change"]PWC[/acronym:a03a62393d] with a high quality [acronym:a03a62393d="Reverse osmosis"]RO[/acronym:a03a62393d]/[acronym:a03a62393d="Deionization"]DI[/acronym:a03a62393d] water and reduce feedings. Take a look at your stocking level as well.
