Help with Feeding
I fed my bubble corals two nights ago for the first time using diced up raw brine shrimp. It was, hands down, the coolest thing I have ever seen!!
So, I feel comfortable with my coral feeding, but my fish are another thing. I have two clown fish. What is the best food? Should I use a feeding ring? Does anyone recommend turning off the [acronym:75888cc772="Powerhead"]PH[/acronym:75888cc772] while feeding to keep food stationary?? How often should they be fed (once per day, twice per day/week)?? What does it mean when a yellow tang doesn't eat the seaweed on the clip I put in there for her? She ate it perfectly fine a few days ago, but not yesterday? Do tangs not eat every day?? Why does she hide behind the [acronym:75888cc772="Live rock"]LR[/acronym:75888cc772] all day long? I'm going to do some searching and reading, but usually getting information and habits from real people is more accurate than some web site that gives guidelines for fish feeding. I like you'all's information so much more! Thanks again for any help! Todd |

Hey
Glad to see you liked feeding the bubble coral, was it at night while the feeding tentacles were long? Well I feed my clowns a range of food from live brine, flakes, zoloplakton (sp?). Seems to love just about anything they can get. The yellow tang not eating may be fine if it just does not want however make sure it is eating often enough so you see no color fades and other signs of starvation. Searching is always good too

I fed the bubble in the evening, and I fed the candy cane coral at about 10pm when it's tentacles were out.
As far as the yellow tang, I'm sure she is fine. The first few days she was very annimated and ate, and swam about. The past two days, she stays behind the [acronym:d4eb34631e="Live rock"]LR[/acronym:d4eb34631e] and doesn't come out that often. I watch them all from the office through my live webcam at http://www.toddwess.com/webcam.html to keep an eye on them! Thanks for the advice, Todd |
