How deep a DSB for a 55gal?

How deep should my [acronym:bb04df6851="Deep Sand Bed"]DSB[/acronym:bb04df6851] be for a 55gal? Is about 3 inches deep enough, or what is the recommended depth?

[acronym:bb04df6851="Thanks in Advance"]TIA[/acronym:bb04df6851]

that should be fine. For a [acronym:358d8c5f13="Deep Sand Bed"]DSB[/acronym:358d8c5f13] to actually work as designed it needs to be 5-6inches deep. With enough [acronym:358d8c5f13="Live rock"]LR[/acronym:358d8c5f13] you should be doing fine.

Opinions vary on [acronym:a0b6c41a8e="Deep Sand Bed"]DSB[/acronym:a0b6c41a8e] almost everyone i have talked to friends and people in the bussiness have said good or bad things about them. I have about 3-4 inches in my 125gal and i think thats plenty.
