New skimmer

Hi guys

I just got a Seaclone 100 skimmer . Its been up and running for about 3 day but nothing is in the collection cup ??? My cheapie Berlin 60 used to be about 1/2 full per day or so.
I have it in my sump right now...does it work better hanging on the back of tank? I cant seen to get a good cyclone of air/water going.

Anyone have this and any tips THANKS

The only tip I could give you would be to bring the seaclone back to the store and get your money back . For a few bucks more you could buy yourself an AquaC Remora which is a great skimmer.

The prizm is very much like the seaclone [acronym:638e8a7208="In my opinion"]IMO[/acronym:638e8a7208] both worthless. If you wanted a prizm you should have opened your mouth, I had an extra one sitting around collecting dust.

Hi, how deep is the water in your sump? The seaclone pump should only be in water less than 4 inches deep. I use mine in the sump and it works great. As with any skimmer it can take up to a week for the "break in" period. As for the bubble mixture I would suggest opening the valve all the way up, then slowly close it until you have a decent trickle of water. I know when I hit the "sweet spot" as the skimmer becomes noisy. If you have microbubbles in the water then you've closed the valve too much.

Hope this helps!

It took mine 1 week before it decided to pick up stuff, now I have to clean the cup just about every day.

I agree with John I would personally return the seaclone and get a AquaC. I have had 2 seaclones before and my AquaC would out do both of them put together. [acronym:f2bbb549a5="Hope this helps (or) Happy to help"]HTH[/acronym:f2bbb549a5]
