Quarantine Help?

My neon goby has ich, so I caught him and put him in a 5 gallon bucket with a airstone and a heater. I put some coppersafe ich treatment in the bucket today. How long should I medicate the bucket for, the directions don't say anything. I am also using a little Kent Rx parasite treatment in my tank, my clown looks like he might have one or two white dots on him. Any help appreciated!

Copper safe treats the tank for 1 month, if you have any other fish in the tank you need to [acronym:325ab78b98="quarantine or quart depending on context"]QT[/acronym:325ab78b98] them also and let your tank be fallow for 6 weeks. (This will allow the ich parasite to die off out of the tank). Otherwize you wil just have a reoccurance of ick.

They also say to vacuum your substrate good to get all the (eggs?) out.

If you are treating your fish in a bucket without biological filtration you better watch the ammonia level very closely. You could try a [acronym:bfd244765e="Freshwater"]FW[/acronym:bfd244765e] dip on your fish and cross your fingers. Most likely you will need to run fallow and treat your fish in [acronym:bfd244765e="quarantine or quart depending on context"]QT[/acronym:bfd244765e]. Unless you are running [acronym:bfd244765e="Fish only"]FO[/acronym:bfd244765e] you should never treat the main tank.
