question about filtration
im currently in the process in cleaning out my tank to start a salt fish only tank, and my question is, is a fluval 304 and 404, with a aqua clear 70 and a CPR bak pak decent or good for a puffer fish? i understand a puffer will out grow it but for now would it be good enough?

Puffers are very messy eaters and rather large waste producers. The "filters" won't help with that much due to the fact they do not actually remove anything. Your biggest defense will be the skimmer and good maintenance practices. Good sized weekly water changes, targeted feedings with a feeeding stick as apposed to general tank feedings and siphoning out large messes as needed along with uneaten foods.
What size tank? Cheers Steve |
