so does that mean i can take away the charcoal or any other chemical filtration and just use the [acronym:3b762a138b="Live rock"]lr[/acronym:3b762a138b] and [acronym:3b762a138b="Deep Sand Bed"]dsb[/acronym:3b762a138b] as my only filtration??

You could... but since you have the [acronym:49d6f7f8f6="Hang On Back"]hob[/acronym:49d6f7f8f6] filter, I would use that as extra water movement and toss in charcoal when you need to polish the water.
