Shrimps and Gobies pair up?

I saw the wierdest thing on animal planet. I was watching that show "most extreme" and the episode was on "extreme couples" and the top number 2 or 3 in the countdown was a Goby and a shrimp couple who need eachother to survive. They said the shrimp was blind and needed the goby to help it find its way back home and the shrimp would bring the Goby food or something like that. lol
Sounds crazy but i want that pair for my tank.

Was wondering if anyone knew what i was talking about or did i just misunderstand that whole segment of the show wrong.

thanks guys.

Pistol shrimp will often pair up with a goby like you saw and help eachother. It's pretty awesome to watch. I have a pistol shrimp/goby pair in a 5g minibow.

Pics and kinds of shrimp gobies. Not any goby will do.

Just make sure your rock is firmly planted on the bottom of the tank 'cause the shrimp will burrow and could cause an avalanche - or get crushed. If the rock is firm, you will not have any problems and can enjoy this relationship without having to watch'm on TV!

I believe any size will do. If not already paired at the [acronym:01a3ee1a41="Local Fish Store"]LFS[/acronym:01a3ee1a41], they'll find each other.

The yellow watchman goby seems the most popular, but check out the others for what suits you.

Lemme know what happens/whatcha do.

The writeup says "if compatible". Makes me wonder, but you should be OK.
