Thinking about getting an open brain coral..advice??
My tank has finished cycling 2-3 weeks ago and I already added my clean-up crew. I will start with polyps and some mushrooms for corals. I was thinking about getting an open brain further down the road. I have about 5w/[acronym:b21cff7c29="Gallon"]gal[/acronym:b21cff7c29] from a coralife [acronym:b21cff7c29="Power compact fluorescent"]PC[/acronym:b21cff7c29] light.
1. Do I have the proper lighting? If not, how much do I need? 2. How long should I wait until I get one (assuming I can) ? 3. Do they require target feeding? 4. Any supplements? 5. Do I have to put it on the substrate, or will it survive higher up in the rocks. Thanks everyone!

1. Yes, should be fine
2. Another week or two would not hurt, you should be okay now though. 3. No 4. Being an [acronym:f4cd75e382="Large polyped Scleractinian (stoney) coral"]LPS[/acronym:f4cd75e382], it will require proper [acronym:f4cd75e382="Calcium"]Ca[/acronym:f4cd75e382]/[acronym:f4cd75e382="Alkinity"]alk[/acronym:f4cd75e382] via [acronym:f4cd75e382="Kalkwasser"]kalk[/acronym:f4cd75e382] or a 2 part additive. 5. It is recommended you keep them on the substrate so they can fully expand. That is where they're happiest. [acronym:f4cd75e382="Hope this helps (or) Happy to help"]HTH[/acronym:f4cd75e382]

I'd rather get torch, hammer, frogspawn, candy cane, acanathstrea, blastomoussa, because they will grow and you can [acronym:e79d2c34f9="Broken or cut pieces of coral which will eventually grow into a new animal"]frag[/acronym:e79d2c34f9] them. An open brain and a plate (I have a new short tentacled one) on the other hand would not grow to be fragged, just sits on the sand and grows and eats, and expands
