Waterfall Pump?
Hi all,
I am going to be needing a bigger pump soon and was wondering if a pump like this would work? http://store.yahoo.com/123ponds/pm02784.html It is made by Danner which makes Magdrive pumps and says oil free operation. I found a 2000 [acronym:b08a84b0df="Gallons per hour"]gph[/acronym:b08a84b0df] model real cheap and wondered if this would be suitable for saltwater use? I assume not but the price is good so I had to check. Thanks

I wouldnt use that pump for an aquarium. Waterfall pumps are very high torque motors, so they can pump large volumes of water very very high, so there for they are very inefficient. That pump probably uses atleast twice the amount of power as a standard 1800 or 2400 pondmaster.

Thanks. I figured it would not work. Local store is selling the pump for $50 so I had to look into it
