Wet Dry Filter!

I FINALLY GOT MY WET DRY FILTER!!!!!

My question. How exactly do i get it running when i decide to set up my tank?

Do i just fill the tank then plug in the filter and it goes from there? Or do i have to put water in the wet dry filter too???

ok....there more to it
i assume ur wet/dry is with a overflow/prefilter
you do want to have some water in the wet/dry (sump)
get the overflow on the back and the hose connected to your sump and the return pump and hose going back into your tank (do not turn on the return pump yet)
fill up ur tank and pour water into ur overflow box (both side)
to get ur u tube goin - my suggestion is to get 2 plastic bags...lil ones and dip ur U tube under the water and cover each end with the bags and take it out and place it in the overflow and remove the bags and wala...the trick is to make sure u stick both end in water on the overflow

1.)Fill up your wet/dry to the water line (close to the bottom of the egg-crating & bio-balls)
2.)Setup your pump and the return line.
3.)Take your overflow box, and fill both parts (in tank and the part on the back)
4.)Take a air hose and run it through the U tube.
5.) Place the U tube back in the overflow with the airline coming out of the back.
6.)Slowly suck on the hose while pulling it out, this will create a syphon.
*****DO NOT turn on your wetdry until that tube is siphoned!!!!!! *******
