What is your Stand On?
I am throwing around the idea of upgrading to a 175 [acronym:6b3f277ba2="Gallon"]gal[/acronym:6b3f277ba2] tank in the near future. The dilema I have will be the tanks location. The best place I can put it will be on a hardwood floor.
What do you reccomend for putting between the stand bottom and the wood floor to help with any water spills. Can I put it on wood pads to elevate it off the floor or would that place uneven stress on the stand? As always I eagerly await your responses.

As long as the stand is flat and level you wont have any added stress on it. You could get a nice thick carpeting pad and get some decent looking carpeting or rug to put between the hardwood floor and the tank stand.
Once again making sure the stand is as level as you can possibly get it is important for the stand and tank.

But with that setup don't you have to worry about mold or mildew from any spilled water. I couldn't move the tank to change the padding. Or is this something to not worry about.

Do you spill that much water? I mean I might end up with less than 1/4 cup of water on floor after regular tank work.
All that should dry relitivly quickly

No I am not that clumsy, there is little water on the floor I guess I'm being just a little too concerned I guess.
