Where can I get live rock in canada?

I am starting up a 70gallon saltwater aquarium and I am wondering where I can live rock up here in Canada. I would also like to know what kind of rock should I be starting with.

There is one store on Carling ave.... Darn, cannot remember the name tho. Look it up in the yellow pages. They have better and healthier rocks than Big Al's, in my opinion. That shop is fine if you only want to buy a few rocks.

You can also try J & L Aquatics, in BC. They have a good price for their [acronym:2cdd4fa628="Live rock"]LR[/acronym:2cdd4fa628], and even with the shipping rates, it comes up less than if you purchased all your rock locally. I know I did the math and that is where I will be ordering mine when I will finally start my main tank.

In Kanata, right off the 417 at Terry Fox dr. (exit to get to the Corel Center) there is a Big Al's Aquariun services in the plaza on the north side by the movie theatre. There is also a specialized reef store closer to downtown. I'm sorry but I don't remember the name of the place but it is south of the Queensway I think around Bank st. but I'm not too sure. They were very snobby though when I was there last summer. I also seem to think there is a Big Al's right downtown however I never made it to that one. Check the phone book. I hope this helps.

Hey Brad. I have been wondering for the longest time about this.... With the exchange rates, does it come really cheaper? Also, what would be the import duties? Because, the bottom line, more most aquarist I believe, is to get the best rock at the best price possible.

Marinescape Aquarium

Thanks for the advice everyone. I did a search for the store on Carling that you mentioned and the name of the place is Marinescape Aquarium. Seems like they specialise in Saltwater aquarium supplies. I have been to Big Al's in Kanata but I was unaware that they sold Live Rock. I will let you know how my search for [acronym:15f7c73f08="Live rock"]lr[/acronym:15f7c73f08] turns out
