The raw shrimp thing
I'm trying to cycle my 10g without fish and the ammonia i bought from the hardware store contains an anionic surfactant so i'm not using it. i'm doing the thing...with the raw shrimp. does that only work for saltwater tanks? or will it jsut as readily decompose in freshwater? ty

Shrimp will rot anywhere.
 It should work just fine in your 10...I'd use a small one though to keep from totally fouling the tank.Logan J
