Is it just me or does anyone else think that the towner family seem to be plagued with computer problems? I was actually looking forward to the presentation last night. Ah well, we will have it next meeting.

Maybe the society should invest in a society laptop? I get a great deal through Dell for new notebooks... sub-1000 price range (well.... depending on options).

On a different computer subject... if anyone is interested in online IRC chat, Lunchbox and I maintain a room (#fishtank) on irc.fdfnet.net

We are currently working towards obtaining a society laptop and a society multimedia projector, actually.

So, Matt (kaiserfish) and myself have an IRC channel setup or the FDFNET server. The channel name is #fishtank Just wondering what the interest would be for CAS members to keep in touch better using it as a chat medium.

IRC isn't particularly user-friendly for most folk...I would imagine that it would be pretty uncrowded by CAS members.

Yeah... configuring it can be super easy or super tough if you click on a few of the wrong options. I could (if people were interested) provide a small (~1mb) download of the config files where the only thing people would have to change is their nick and email address, and then click connect and it would auto-perform the rest of the options.

On the other hand, has it ever been posted in the Calquarium about Aquarium Advice for those people who don't know that many members post on here?
