after about 7 months,i finally found one. a blue paradise fish. he's currently acclimating,so pics will be soon.he's 1-1.5 inches(not including fins) long, and as long as he leaves the jewels fry alone he will be fine(they just swim around there fry/eggs(a bunch of java moss grows right in front and they wont let me near to clear it,so i dont know which it is). i cant wait till he colours up

I'll take pics when he's done acclimating. i'm so happy,i had pretty much given up on finding one

sorry they're blurry,i'm not a very good photographer, and swimming fish are hard to get pics of

it kinda looks like he has tail rot,but i'm not sure. if it stays/gets worse, i'll put him in a clean bucket with some salt to help it

my black skirts took a liking to his tail. if they dont leave him alone,he will become a temporary resident in my 10 gallon guppy/endler/dont really know breeder tank(they are about the size of endlers, without much colour). if it goes that far,he'll stay there till he's big enough to hold his own against the black skirts(the biggest ones are about his size. luckily, they arent smart enough to gang him)

I was thinking of setting up a tank for my betta who is in my 10g and replacing him with a Paradise fish so I would like to know how this goes :)

It's weird how some of the fish that were so common not too long ago are starting to become scarce. I never realized it until now that I haven't seen one of these guy in a couple years.

Lucky! :) I looked for some and my LFS said they are hard to come by, so he doen't think he'll have any for some time.

well,he seems to be enjoying my 10. he is fascinated by ghost shrimp, and chased one out of the tank. now i only have one, guess i get to go to the LFS again soon. luckily,he isnt a very good predator, most of the fry are still swimming
