Hi everyone
New to this site just replaced our Marineland to a AquaClear and guy recommended Amonia Remover insert my question do we put that between the carbon and Biomass insert?
Thanks gofishgo!!

After the sponge[mechanical] before the bio.
The carbon order doesn't matter as carbon doesn't remove ammonia.
Before the bio so the bio can be more efficient. After mechanical so it clogs up slower.
Enjoy the Aquaclear!

What do you mean after mechanical? So sponge ammonia carbon then bio?

Yes..(y)
The sponge that came with the filter is considered mechanical filtering. It removes large particules, and will need rinsing. It is bottom and water goes to it first. Then ammonia or carbon ,then bio...

Incase you didn't know this because I didn't know this ...you never rinse the sponge under faucet water [because of the chlorine which kills bacteria to make the water safe to drink] you have to rinse it in your water change when you do a water change rinse it in that water.... that keeps the good bacteria in the sponge :)
