My wife wants to setup up a betta tank. We were planning on buying a 5 gal aquarium kit, but we wanna see what works best for bettas. Thanks

Sorry, are you asking what we all think is the best size for a betta? Or, are you just telling us that you are looking into it? Just checking. Either way, congrats on setting up a nice betta home!

I would get a small 25 watt heater. I have one for my 5 gallon betta tank and it is very helpful, especially during winter, since they like 78 degrees

A 5 gallon for a betta would be perfect. With a 10 gallon you could have a betta and some friends (depending on the personally of the betta). I heater to keep the temp at 80 and a filter with not too much water flow so it doesn't knock the betta about. Substrate of your choice, somewhere to hide and some real or fake plants. Make sure there is nothing in the tank that he could get his fins/tail caught or torn.
