it depends on what you want to breed
I breed feeders with lots of success (mysiss, brine, pods, blood worms ect) water cond is main factor temp and water quality
I've bred ciclids , mollies , gold fish(there not as easy as you would think) sometime would like to try saltwater fish breeding
before you start do a lot of research it will help knowing what to expect before you sink alot of $ into it tanks pumps heaters filtration ect

The best starter fish would be guppies.

Danios and white clouds are easy to breed egg layers.
