My concern was always being hurt. When you invest $500 in a female (and thats the friends price) you dont want to risk an injury.

is there any light fixtures cheaper that can handle the infered red lighting

Yea, I got both of mine from the same breeder but she was $650 for everyone else. And I bought her when she was in her baby colors. How she colored up now I could sell her for over $1000 easy. As for the light fixture besides your typical reptile light not really.

When green tree pythons hatch they are either yellow or red. Mine was a red neonate. Then they slowly change into green. So when you buy young you can only guess what they will look like. I don't have a picture of mine but she looked like this one

This is how she looks now after about a year of changing from red to orange to green very slowly.

The black freckles are very desirable and she should get blue patter where the white is down her spine.
