Cycle a tank

Hi guys I have a 180L Jewel tank I got it second hand with a Fulval 206 pump how do I know when tank is cycled and the best way I doing it don't want to throw fish In and watch them die

Hi brew86.

Please go to the getting started forum and read the stickies at the top. There is a guide on how to perform a fishless cycle and a guide to successfully carry out a cycle whilst adding fish to the aquarium.

You can choose which ever method you feel is best for you and your potential fish.
