Just got these guys in today! One beautiful gold gourami, 3 bronze corys and 3 panda corys, and one crab (dunno what kind; any ideas?). I put them in my 36 gallon corner tank which was pretty much emptied during an unfortunate moving accident. The paradise gourami is one of two fish that survived the move :(

Beautiful red claw crab you have there. They are semi terrestrial brackish water crabs. I would either take him back, or set up a small brackish tank for him. If kept completely underwater and in freshwater, it won't live long, and will be miserable while desperately in search of access to air.
:(

Ok, thanks for the advice! I'll probably take him back then; HN1, it would be appreciated if you either gave good advice without being so snobbish, or didn't post. Notice how the others gave actual advice?

That being said, I was talking to the shop owner, and tried to validate his information on my smartphone, only to find I had no service. I also understand the dangers of impulse buying, but if that's my only vice, I think I'll take it :p

Maybe "snobbish" posts to the multitude of impulse buyers I've seen is my only vice. Good on you for taking the good advice offered. A bit of research in advance can save a lot of effort.

your gouramis would eat any shrimp most likely. nerite snails, and amano shriimp might work along with maybe thai mircro crabs.
