Going through fishless cycle.
I'm testing by using strips at the mo. but I have ordered api master kit

My results taken couple hours ago

No3 100 (risen)
No2 5-10 nearer 10 though I think (risen)
Gh 16 (stayed same)
Kh 10 (stayed same)
Ph 6.8-7.2 ( this has lowered)
Cl2 ok (stayed same)

I'm thinking a water change needed am I right? If so how much? do i rinse filter in old tank water? Add bb fluid?(nutrafin cycle)

You will probably need to do two. I would not worry about the filter as it is fishless. I start with a 50%

That article will help a lot. I agree a water change to bring down the levels would be good. What is your ammo source?

Also, I'd not use that cycle product, I've seen it do more harm than good.

Your aiming for NO3 to be around 20. But some people may disagree since you are using strips.

Ok guys I did a 50% water change last night. But nitrate/nitrites are the same!!! Didn't touch filter. Doesn't seem water change has done much if anything. Should I leave it or do another water change?
