So are new containers of matrix sealed? I recieved a "new" 2L of Matrix today from a large online retailer. Everything else was fine except the matrix wasn't sealed and it smells fishey and like algea. I don't trust it.

Well I called the retailer and they sent me another 2L of Matrix. This one also has no seal. I called Seachem and they said that they do have a seal on the jar under the lid. How do I know this product is safe to use without a seal on it? Why would a large retailer who claims to only sell new product ship me Matrix without seals?

did you get it from ebay? if it smells fishy...it might just be
