My first aquarium

I will try that, thank you!

Any suggestions on which heater I should get? I'm just getting started so I would rather not spend a whole lot on one, but I still want one that's going to work properly.
Also, do I need a bubbler or are they just

Bubble is just for decor and extra oxygenation.

I love my Eheim Jäger heaters

My first aquarium

So I can get fish without one and add it later and everything will be ok?

What watt for the eheim? I have a 10 gallon tank. (I don't know if that matters)

I would wait until you get one otherwise they might be a little chilly. You are looking at a 50 watt heater.

General rule is 5 watts per gallon. 5 x 10 = 50 watt.

I'm sorry, I think I worded that wrong. I am definitely getting a heater before I get fish.

I meant the bubbles, can I get fish without a bubbler? Is it bad for them?

Oh yes you can go without one. Bubbles are purely cosmetic. No use except in planted tanks (co2 dispersal), increase in oxygenation, and as decor.

You can have it if you want to but it's in no way required.

The filter will move water and cause there to be oxygen in the water for the fish. A bubbler isn't necessary to keep them unless there isn't any water flow/oxygenation.

Welcome, to the community and check out the link in my signature if you need any additional info on keeping fish.

Here is a link for fish in cycling.
