New 10 gallon

Ok so my cousin gave me a 10 gallon with all his decorations and stuff. I have a 5 gallon too so if i put the five gallons filter in the 10 gallon will it cycle? Also what fish should i put in it and what color gravel black or white?

If you transfer over the filter entiely, you will have a small cycle. Shouldn't be more than a few days, as long as you keep up an ammonia cycle. Do you have fish in the 5g? Or is it empty?

I personally prefer white gravel, of the two. I think it looks nice. But, it's really up to you.

You could do a betta or some type of nano-fish. A good link to start out with is:

The five gallon is empty. I think ill put tetras in the 10 gallon or some schooling fish.
