New acquisitions

Coming back from a weekend visit to Binghamton, NY I couldn't resist stopping at my favorite lfs -- Something Fishy (toofishy.com). They had clams on special for $29.95 so I grabbed one of those a few other items.

For anyone who lives nearby Anthony Calfo will be doing an afternoon demo on fragging on November 11.

They are all in my QT tank for now.

Very nice! What are the first two pics? A coral that's not opened? I love the clam too.

The first two photos are of a plate coral. The two were attached when I bought them, so I got 2 for the price of one. They were seperate when I got home.

I've never seen this coral before and I haven't seen it in any books yet. Does anyone have an ID?

Your first two are definitley long-tentacle plate corals, Heliofungia sp. The next is a Trachyphyllia sp. brain it looks like, or an "open brain" it's commonly called.

Thanks Lindsay. I knew they were plate corals. I just had not seen such brightly colored long tentacled ones before.
