Wingless fruit flies are alive, and actually do have wings, but they can't fly. They're typically cultured and fed to dart frogs and very small reptiles. Should be fine for a while, will take some time to finish absorbing the tail. Not likely to eat anything aside from tiny live bugs though.

I use those cultures for my dart frogs.
Each culture lasts about a month or so, give or take. They reproduce like crazy for a while, so you'd have a large number to feed often

Ok thanks guys! I'll see if I can't find any wingless flys at my LPS.

You could also try some very small ants. No fire ants. Also try mosquito lava or plant aphids. Alison

I just went to my LPS and found the wingless/flightless flies and put them in front of him and he has shown no interest. Is there anything I can do to make it look extra yummy to him?

Those were like $10 so I hope he eats them.

New baby toad...

His focus seems to be on escaping...do you think he's not hungry since his nub of a tail isn't fully absorbed? He's hopping around so he's not sick.

I let him go hoping he will survive on his own. He was a native species anyway so it's not a problem.
