New CHEAP skimmer

Before you flare read the whole post LOL

A couple weeks ago i was offered a prism skimmer classic for 15 bucks. It was used but in good shape. I have been skimmerless my whole saltwater life but had to try it out. Since then i have had some nice return. I have gotten some thick dry foam very nasty stuff! Well i decided to leave it on, I will see how this goes. This is for my 55 gallon.

FWIW...I prefer a wetter foam.

True, but it all turns to dark green water soon enough

WHat should foam look like typically? I have just built my own skimmer along with my overflow and refugium.. and will have it set up when I get back to college.
