New kid in the tank...Polypterus ornatipinnis

This one showed up quite unannounced at my favorite LFS and he followed me home!!! He's about 6 inches long.

Polypterus ornatipinnis - The Ornate Bichir

LOL medge00....I'm sure they KNEW I would buy it as soon as I saw it! It was unexpected in that they usually tell me ahead of time when they're getting Polypterus in. Apparently there was some sort of mix-up in their shipment and this one came in along with some puffers and tiger barbs (not in the same bags).

The collection is getting there.....I've now got 6 species of Polypterus and the 1 species of Erpetoichthys for a total of 12 'bichirs' and 1 rope fish.

Hmmmm....interesting that you should mention that. I just so happen to have picked up a VERY nice 20 Long that now houses some of my 'teenager' bichirs. As soon as the hardwood floors are in the 100+ gallon is going in!
