I think I gave up on my dying Acan a little too early. After I realized this it was too late though. The spot in the tank where the Acan used to be was looking empty so I had to go out and buy another coral. This totally broke the goal I set for myself of waiting 3-weeks before I bought another coral since my last coral purchase. The 3-weeks turned into 6-days.
Here is my new Favia. At the LFS it looked like a Christmas Favia with Bright Red and very bright Green. This was under the LFS 20k halide. When I got home the Red turned a little Purple under my lights, but it still looks pretty cool.

That's a really pretty piece. I love the colors. I hope it does well for you. :)

One day I'm gonna get up enough guts to attempt a reef tank. With pictures like this - so beautiful - it is really tempting. But first things first let me get my freshwater up and running
Once again beautiful coral (y)

i had something that looked just like that. with some target feeding and the right lighting, it turned into this-

thanks. as i said, when i rescued that coral it was a flat, square piece, with nothing going on. give it some time. it has potential.
