New Oscars

Me mate had some oscars that outgrew his tank so I offered to take them off his hands and put them in with mine.
A male and a female(by the looks of it) blood red tiger oscars
Mine (pure gold and another tiger both female) are actually partitioned in "the naughty corner" for attacking my barramundi, who has now gone into quarantine. he got a skin infection after being beaten up.

What I find is strange, is my tiger, the one in my av, has the golden yellow patches over him, while these new ones are blood reds.

So far i'm keeping both pairs seperate as they are not taking to each other to well through the partition and I fear I may never be able to have them together. They are all stuffed full of food but i will see whats happening in a few days time. also mine are alot fatter and somewhat bigger. i'm hoping they all join forces as they will all be going into a 6x2x2 soon and i don't really want to have the partition in the big display tank.

Pics to come soon. the males colours are amazing.

rgds.
Matt.

thanks guys...
thats the idea. I was hoping to mix the blood red male with my pure gold.
They seem to be alot more friendlier this morning, so I will try to put them all together tonight. and let you know how it goes. Worst that can happen is that i will have to seperate them again.

If you shall excuse my french, IT WENT BLOODY AWESOME.
I did not expect the reaction I dgot.
They got a bit narky when I got home, and my babies being as arrogant as they are, demanded my attention.. but I am also converting to sand tonight when I opened the divider to open the tank up for full acess they adjusted as if they were best mates.
the new male, about half the size of my pure gold, and the pure gold adjust really well to each other, there was an initial check out between the two, but within a few seconds it was like old friends reunited. ande the other two, for some strange reason seem to have paired up...(( two females, if im not wrong every males dream????) :P

if you have seen jurrasic park #1, you will know what i mean, when i say that my first oscars were testing the divider, looking for a spot where they could get through....It got to the stage in the first night that they would bang against the plastic divider and try and move it to get through to the noobies.
one thing, my catfish seems to think he is an oscar, and seems to be trying to make a pair with the male (although he won't have a bar of it )
all in all. This is one small step for aquarium. One Giant leap for Aquarist Kind....First contact, everything is ok... It was 8:45pm when I first introduced them..9:45 now, and all is ok... I'll be up for quite some time now having a few brews, so if there is any troubles I will let you all know..

The Eagle Has Landed.

It's LMW Matt.

I agree, there is nothing better than a follow up. Well, perhaps having your fish enjoying a mating ritual is a little better.
