new seahorses

They are pot bellied seahorses (hippocampus abdominalis)

They arrived yesterday, I have lost one, maybe 2 by the time I
get home, they had fouled the water pretty badly.....
Hopefully the other pair will be ok...

You find the most unique creatures of anyone I've ever seen! Those are awesome...

Wow, beautiful! Have you had lots of experience with seahorses, Hara? Your gallery is lovely. I adore seahorses and seadragons, but I fear keeping them in an aquarium because I wouldn't want to harm them. Do any of you happen to know if they ever breed in captivity?

Oh Hara; they are lovely.

I'm sorry about the non-survivors, but I'm guessing with a lil girl and a lil boy it won't be long till they replace them *grin*

seahorses do breed readily in captivity, the babies are rather difficult to raise. Seadragons cannot be kept legally in home aquariums do the fact they are endangered.

I did lose one pair of them, hoping the other two do ok, one is eating, one is not.
