New Tank - advice needed

I have bought a BIOrb 30L tank which comes with all the required kit but I would like some advice on how I should setup the tank - i.e should I wait a certain number of days before introducing any fish?

I also would like some pointers, in what starter fish might be a good idea? I also would really like to get a catfish to keep the tank nice and clean, I really like these fish, so any advice on this would also bo helpful.

You should cycle your tank before adding any fish, it takes usually takes around a month or longer. If you search for fishless cycles there are plenty of good articles on this site and others.

It would have to be a smaller Cory, since it's only 30L

Oh its only an 8 gallon tank, then yes, the cory's would have to be of the dwarf variety. Even then they probably wouldn't work.

Yea, and it's an oddly shaped tank so that limits the number of fish because there is less gas exchange
