Here's one of my latest acquisitions....a young (4") Polypterus ornatipinnis. He's checking out the new digs after being released from the bag.

He looks very happy! I don't have this fish, but I did see one at the hatchery. How many tanks do you have, Fruitbat? Is it one tank for each species you list in your sig? (for example, one tank for all the bichers, one tank for all the anabantids, or how are they arranged in each tank?)

Beautifull fish these bichirs.........guess I'll have to get me a new tank soon.....

An-tiasg....

The bichirs occupy multiple tanks along with most of the Bush Fish and other African fish. All of the Asian fish are in a couple of separate tanks as well. All told...I have 6 aquaria at this point and there will be a 120 in the near future that will house the vast majority of the African beasties.

Thanks, Joe! I was wondering about all the bichirs -- I know they get big! A 120 gallon will be nice to have for all your beasties! (then you can get more for the other tanks!) :D

Yeah Toirtis....but I hear that you like to swim with yours!!! In my neighborhood....that's called a bath tub!

Toirtis.....

I agree....I could use a couple of 240s.....but I don't know how I'd manage to keep them out in the back yard....which is where my wife would banish me if I brought them home. I'd need a LOT of extension cords to power the aquariums, my computer, my coffee-maker, my alarm clock, etc., etc. out there!
