A while back I posted a picture of a fish that was sold as Polypterus retropinnis but that turned out to be an as-yet undescribed species known as Polypterus sp. 'Congo'. Most of the fish sold in fish stores as P. retropinnis are actually Polypterus palmas polli.
I finally have Polypterus retropinnis for SURE! Picked up a couple of 3" long babies from Rehoboth Aquatics after a LONG wait for them to come in from Africa. Here's one of the babies:
