Depends on the rocks. Not every rock is made out of the same thing.
They do not affect nitrate levels, but plenty of rocks affect pH.

Depends on what the rock is made of, limestone, sandstone, quartz? Many types out there. River rocks are normally the safest pebbles slates and such. What rock is it, do you know? Some rocks have lime, chalk, which can make the water more alkaline. Quartz has a lot of silicates so you may have some diatoms appear.

Looks like a mix of colored sandstone, lava rock and slate. The sand stone would be the only one that would affect the PH. That stack doesn't look to stable I'd hate for it to fall and damage your tank.

Thank you, took some time. But while I had everything out I gave it a nice gravel vac and 25% wc so I guess it turned out to be a good thing. And the wife is happy also! LoL and that's what matters most! Haha but yeah that rock stack worried her too. Thanks again.
