Here's a shot of one of my new Asian anabantids, the Combtail (Belontia signata). This is the little female....the male (who is much larger) is a cowardly sort who has taken up residence in a clump of Java Moss and ducks back into it whenever he sees the camera.

The LFS surprised the heck out of me with them. They know I'm into African river fish and they called me to let me know they'd gotten some in. When I went down there I found out they weren't kidding! In addition to all of the African fish, however, was a tank filled with Belontia signata. I haven't seen these fish in AGES and I just so happened to have some room in my 'Asian' tank so I snatched a pair of them up!

Pretty fish! I hope the male gets a personality overhaul so you can take it's pic one of these days :D
