110 gallon filter crash!

So, I just set up my tank, and noticed the filter has a leak! (we got the whole set up for 300 dollars, so I'm not surprised). It was the Fluval 404 we had on there, for 100 gallons (we have NO fish) what would be the best filter to put on the tank? I was looking at a Hagen Fluval FX5 Canister Filter, but it is for 400 gallons, but they did say the more filtration the better...and that is A LOT of filtration, or should I stick with the Fluval 405 Canister????

IMO all you need is LR and a skimmer. 1 to 1 1/2 lbs per gallon and a quality skimmer.

I have the FX5 on my 125. It's a great filter. You can also go the no filter and skimmer as Mike suggests. I like a filter to add media and extra LR rubble, but that is only my personal preference.
