oh and I tested for trates about 3 nights ago and came up with 40-45. so yeah I got a long way to go. but it seems as though the water itself is clearing up some. I feel like although im a good bit away from seeing nitrate/phosphate reduction, the effects of carbon dosing are starting to show up. heres to hoping it continues.

If it doesn't ramp to where you want it, maybe a large turf scrubber. Either way, vodka dosing is interesting stuff. Not something I can do...if it was rum I'd have the necessary components.

CRAP! forgot the pics! hmmm. anyways good news is in... the war has been won!! came home from work today and realized the purple tang and yellow tang were being civil. so I watched them for a bit. only thing the purple does now is occasionally swim over to the yellow and stare him down for a sec. the constant chasing and body touching has stopped!!! im soo excited! all ive wanted since I got the purple tang was this combo and it seems I finally was able to pull it off.

short video of the tank. notice that the purple still likes to taunt the yellow tang, however the physical bullying and constant chasing has stopped.

I have a mix of many different saltwater fish amongst my tanks, but I love my Tangs most of all.

thank you Carey I really feel it was the tank size that allowed me to get away with it. had there not been all that room, the Yellow wouldn't have been able to get outta sight of the purple.
