I am setting up a 75 gallon fowlr and dsb (approx. 200lbs of sand) and was wondering since i will only have probably 55 gallons of water once sand and live rock are added would a remora skimmer with a maxijet 1200 which is rated at 75 gallons not be more than sufficient with the surface skimmer installed since I have read all over the internet that these skimmers are very efficient and have been told that most skimmers are underrated by manufacturers so that they will work very well within the range that they are listed to be used for.

The remora is probably one of the best skimmers money can buy. I think you will be fine with that setup.

I am planning on buying the remora with the maxijet 1200 and surface skimmer but cannot afford the remora pro with skimmer for the additional 50 dollars with skimmer box and was hoping that the remora with maxijet 1200 would be fine for my tank
