I have a 55g fowlr tank which has been setup up now for about 4 months. Currently I have 2 bags (not sure how many lbs.) of sand in the tank. I'm wanting to add another bag. Doing this will it throw anything off (ammonia, nitrite, etc.)? Will it harm the fish from how cloudy it gets from adding sand?

Yes you will have to take down the tank if you want to add another bag of sand and then wait for it to settle. It probably will throw them off as the detritus in the sand now will rise you will also prob. have to drain the tank a quarter.

Just rinse the sand and do what Mike does. Get a length of PVC tubing and pour the sand down the pipe to the bottom of the tank. Do a 1/4 of the tank at a time and you should be Okay.
Do this before doing your PWC.
