Algae explosion

About 2 days before my biweekly water change i have a diatom explosion! On the glass, on the liverock, and on the sand by the edges. What does this indicate? Tanks been up for about 4 months.

It indicates that there was silicate somewhere in your system. Possibly in the sand and there was a shift or it got stirred up by a ph or something.
