I recently purchased a file fish to eat up aptasia (spelling?). It did a great job of getting rid of these parasites; however, I am concerned that this fish may have eaten the tenticles off my trumpet coral and from my acan as well. I have not seen any tenticles extend at all from some of these corals for days. He has not hurt my zoas or mushrooms. Anyone with experience with these fish. I plan to put hin in the sump tonight.

If your talking about the harlequin file fish, I'd return him. They feed on acropora polyps and pretty much any other coral.

I have a matted leatherjacket filefish they are reef safe with caution he got rid of my aiptasia then went to work on my acans so I transferred them to another tank,he hasn't touched any other coral since but filefish should be fed at least three times a day.
