Do y'all put freshwater in your bucket or do you put saltwater in it? I have a 5 gallon bucket that I filled with saltwater wanted to make sure that's what I need to use! Thanks

The auto top off reservoir should be freshwater. water evaporates off the tank but the salt is left in the tank so you have to top off with fresh water to keep the salinity steady.

I personally purchase RO/DI from LFS and pace it in in one bucket with a heater and have air flow 24 hours prior to water changes thats if salinity is needed of course. But standard top offs with RO/DI or distilled water is always normally needed due to salt staying in the tank unless you have a major salt creep problem.
