base rock and live rock

if i buy lots of base rock and seed it with live rock, will the bas rock begin to look like the live rock in terms of colors and other things growing on it? or will just the bacteria that i cannot see spread to the base rock and leave it looking the same? thanks

It will grow coraling and some of the other life forms on the rock will migrate to the base rock.

My 72 gallon has been up and running for about 2 1/2months, I had about 40lbs of base rock and I bought 20lbs of live rock. I put base rock on bottom.

I've seen pods running all over the base rock, and now I have beautiful coraline algae starting to spreading all over my base rock and my artificial plants.
