Hello,
I've had freshwater fish and want to give saltwater a try for the first time. I would love to have a 30 gal tank to start off but am unfortunately limited in size so most likely looking at a 12 gallon. Based on compatibility and size, I was considering the following livestock:
1- Randall goby
1- Firefish
1- Midal blenny
3- Blue leg hermit crabs
4- nassarius snails
1- pistol shrimp
These aren't set in stone, so please let me know if you have a fun substitute for any of these. I think I'm going with live sand and 10-15 lbs of live rock. I was hoping for some recommendations on live plants that would go well with this substrate/livestock.
I've also read some mixed feedback on using protein skimmers on such a small tank. Add one in anyway?
Thanks in advance for any feedback!
