have a 29 gallon fowlr with a 20 long sump (refugeum) I using a Coralife Super Skimmer Needle Wheel Protein Skimmer 125. Question can a skimmer be to large for a certain tank size. Tank is stocked with Flame Angle and a 3 spot damsel, Camleback shrimp with cleanup crew and 60 lbs of live rock

I don't think you could EVER over filter your tank. I had the BH-1000 on my tank (Reef Octopus) and it was fine. Its rated for a 100 gallon tank and I had it on a 29 gallon.

I'm using a reef octopus nwb200 rated for 250 gallons on a 40 breeder with another 40 for the sump. It's probably 65 total gallons and it's working fine. I planned on running it on a timer but I've only ever shut it off during water changes and cleaning, and I've never had a problem.
