Last weekend I changed my substrate from crushed coral to "Arag Alive" aragonite sand. The progress photos are below...

The water took a couple of days to clear up, but it is coming together...

Be careful with fine sand. Everything was fine with my tank until I added a goby. Now the sand goes everywhere when he sifts crazy.

The hermit crabs are back to walking around on the live rock. I watched them appear to struggle with walking on the crushed coral, they get around on the sand just fine. I added a few pieces of base rock the other day. I have also added 3 snails, if anyone can help me identify the snail that would be great. My eight your old named the snails Gary, Gary Jr., and MEGA GARY... kids!

I was thinking about getting a goby next. Are they good at cleaning the sand?

Great sifter. I got a pink diamond. Make sure that your base rock is on the bottom of the tank mine LOVES to dig under my rocks and make it his home.

We love our tiger goby but does make a mess with the sand. lol He throws it everywhere. And +1 on making sure your rocks have a good base because he make homes underneath the rocks

Bullet goby is the best sifter out there. I think the other name for it is the sleeper banded goby. I had one and they did great.
